Why bring women together to sing?

Women often play a special supportive role to others in their families, workplaces and communities. The Tuesday group currently includes women who are volunteers, mothers, daughters, community activists, supportive friends and neighbours, teachers, nurses, carers, social workers, mental health workers and artists.

The effort you put into these different roles makes the world a happier and fairer place to live. My Heart Sings aims to support you to do this work, by providing a regular fun and uplifting group singing experience.

What happens at each session?

At each session we do simple breathing exercises and sing easy-to-learn songs in simple harmonies. We sing songs from around the world, folk, reggae, jazz, pop, soul, gospel songs, songs of struggle, seasonal songs and lots of silly stuff. We have a tea break so you get to socialise too. You will leave feeling relaxed and energised.
We do occasional informal performances to share our singing with the world!
